Review on 🔧 OTC 4513 Heavy-Duty 2-Piece Snap-Ring Pliers Set for Internal and External Use by Andy Tunes

They are much larger than I expected. They easily weigh a few pounds each. However, they are also very strong and are good for pulling large diameter internal and external snap rings - about 2 1/2" to 6" or so. The tip diameter is approximately 1/8 inch (0.125 inch). The various tips are held in place by two large screws and are very strong. An advantage of this is that a person can make their own handpieces for specific purposes. I love the feature that holds the snap ring in place - too many times I've almost dropped the snap ring only to slip it off the tool and start over. again. However, I gave it 4 stars because the ratchet on the locking feature prevents the tool from getting into snap rings that are more than 5 inches or so below the surface - which is common when rebuilding gears, hydraulic cylinders or spindles on machine tools. etc. It also gets in the way when working in tight spaces. , I can still do it by drilling out the rivet holding it in place and putting a nut and bolt in its place. If it already had this feature I would give it a solid 5 stars.
