I shaved it off to match my 2004 Lexus IS300. Great fit and saved $45!

. So I have a 2004 Lexus IS300 and replacing this little plastic part from Lexus costs anywhere from $25 to $60 depending on whether you're buying new or used. So I bought this item instead, much cheaper. There are two pins on this piece that connect to the hood. One side didn't fit so I used an angle grinder to shape it from a square pin to fit the IS300's round hole. (see image). Took about 5 minutes and saved $20-40. If you don't have an angle grinder, you'll have to sharpen it by hand. I estimate it will take around 30 minutes. But after that it was fine.
