Pros and cons The best in the spare wheel trunk

First pluses. It seems to be made well enough and the price is right. I've been looking for a holder that fits a 5.5" 5 tab template for a long time but without much success until I found this one. However, it doesn't specifically say it will fit a 5-stud wheel, so there's another plus. Installation is obvious, so those who have complained about the lack of installation instructions should probably ask someone to install it for them. Now a scam. This is clearly made for the tongue of the box frame. My (Texas Bragg) pendant has an angled iron tongue. This means the top mounting bolts are snug against the frame but the bottom bolts are not holding them together and continue to pull the rear bracket against the front bracket until it begins to flex. I was also concerned that twisting the top bolts would eventually shear them off. The solution was to buy metal tubing, cut it into two 3" pieces and slip them onto the bottom studs to get the standoffs and standoffs. It's secure now, and I'm sure the strut won't come loose in the middle of the freeway. Three stars might seem a bit mean, but 5 stars seems to be the norm. My rating system is 1 star for flaws, 3 stars when the product is fine, and 5 stars when the product exceeds my expectations. It would be a 5 star product if it included spacers and real lug nuts.
