Good in the wind? in sports

Although I haven't used it yet, it seems to be the best and most solid construction I've found. I installed it on one of the tubes in my road dune buggy's cage, where any paper or plastic coffee cup or more or less normal beverage container would be hit by 65 mph winds. I'm leaving in a few days to drive from California to North Carolina and back. I look forward to seeing how well it keeps a standard paper coffee mug on the road for several mornings at highway speeds. I've found that other manufacturers, particularly fully articulated cup holders, don't work as expected. They either sway the cup (or glass) into other objects, causing the contents to slosh out if the cup itself is gripped well, or the wind knocks the holder completely off its mount, causing fizzy coffee to splatter the cabin and makes me look and smell like an unemployed barista. The swagman is well built with an adjustable clip, and while it doesn't wobble from side to side, it looks just right for trying to carry coffee in the wind. I'll get the proof in a few days anyway.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Some difficulties
