I was hesitant to buy an "upgraded" router to save a few bucks, but my experience with this purchase was very positive. I have been using TP-Link home network devices for a number of years. This model has all the features, performance, and user interface that I'm used to. Aside from the lack of TP-Link in the retail box, I didn't see any signs that this router wasn't new and unused. Setup was very quick and easy. I used this router to replace an old 1st generation Apple Airport base station that had only a 10/100 WAN interface, weak signal, and only a "blueprint" 802.11n connection. The 5 GHz band never worked on this device. The update resulted in an approximately 6-fold increase in the bandwidth of laptops and smartphones communicating wirelessly in different locations in the home. Also, I was able to connect multiple Ring cameras directly to the router instead of through an extender. I got a great bang for my buck. It was money well spent.
