I needed to send data between two computers over a connection that was a little less than 200 feet apart. The WIFI signal was insufficient as the connection dropped frequently. I bought a 200ft network cable but sometimes the connection worked and sometimes it didn't. Bought some ethernet booster devices which didn't solve the problem. Bought with enough fiber optic cable to get there. I actually had to buy a different version of the piece that the cable plugged into. The one that came with this one is for single wire and the one I bought was double. I connected everything to two computers side by side. The connection still ran the full length of the fiber optic cable, so I could see if it was working without unwinding the cable. Bingo, it worked. However, I didn't remove the cable from sight until I was convinced it worked. It did, and now the cable is mostly out of sight and I have the operational power I needed.
