Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Elitech PG 30Pro Refrigeration Refrigerants with Enhanced Backlighting by Chef Deane

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent gauges

I was looking for either a set of digital manifolds or analog gauges for R12, R22, R134a and R410A. When I finally found analog gauges with these 4 dials, I found that the pressure and temperature scales were ridiculously inaccurate due to the R410's higher operating pressure; the search continued. I've seen very expensive digital gauges or digital manifold kits. I've considered buying the $230 Testo Smart probes, but didn't like the idea of dealing with a smartphone, dying battery, Bluetooth connections, etc. I also remembered the quality or lack of Testo vacuum gauge 552. Then I saw Elitek pressure gauges. I went to their website and I liked what I saw. I just doubted whether to go for PG-30 or PG-30Pro. 30 of the specs operates on 4 refrigerants, is smaller but uses a button cell, while the PG-30Pro is larger, does not have these 4 refrigerants but uses 3 AAA batteries. After chatting online with customer service who were there to answer all of my questions, I decided to buy PG-30 Pros directly from Elitech with the understanding that if they were too large to fit my diverse range Uniweld Quick Action Series upgrade, as Courtesy Elitech will cover the return shipping cost and exchange the Pros for a regular PG-30. I received the sensors today and they were slightly thicker and about the same diameter (no rubber protection) as the sensors I was replacing. I was able to install them with rubber bumpers on the side; Once the gauge was in place I put the guard back on and everything was fine. The instructions that come with the gauges are complete and more than clear. Of course, it is required that you are familiar with refrigeration equipment. The processing turned out better than expected, but I have doubts about the strength of the plastic housing itself. The 1/8" NPT threads are perfectly tapped. The hex wrench is sturdier and much more convenient than the regular square drive found on most gauges. Each gauge has a sintered brass filter to prevent contamination of the gauge The maximum and minimum accumulator was a useful feature.Sensor setup is intuitive and simple.Refrigerant selection is logical and convenient. The display is large and backlit, it is visible even in the darkest conditions.Zero is stable and the reading is more accurate than any analog gauge.I am very pleased with the gauges, the packaging, the instructions, the delivery time (Revain implementation), the Elitech customer service and overall all experiences so far. Will be purchasing another kit to fit the sensors replacing my car manifold once i am sure the plastic casing is strong enough i would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Pros
  • Pressure and vacuum
Cons
  • Slightly torn
