Good with some caveats

This is an acceptable but not the best alternative if you like Jerry's Art Supply's reflection albums. I bought this to see if it would be a good alternative to the reflection line of products. Here are some pros and cons to help you decide: Pros: - Simple and stable rigid front and back - Acceptable page thickness - Pencil and markers can be used (up to a point) - Spiral binding - Best for pencils. (Not recommended for thick markers or pastels) - Price Cons: - Difficult to quickly see front and back unless you look at the spiral binding or add some sort of marker on the front cover - Paper is soft and a bit delicate - Markers bleed through a little if areas have a lot of ink. Not suitable for wet media. Overall, this is an acceptable product, but not an ideal alternative to the reflection line. Would I buy again? Maybe if I can't just get hold of a reflection sketchbook. The best thing about this item is its price and general acceptance. Ideal for beginners but they must understand its limitations. Bachmore generally makes good products. (I especially like their tracing paper, which I think is their best product, so I gave this sketchbook a try.) I'm saying all this from the perspective of a professional artist with over 30 years of experience. I have used many art products over the years. I know what is good and what is bad.

Pros
  • SUPER PRACTICAL FEATURES - This paper is made of acid free paper with thick, strong, smooth white and durable paper. This paper can be used for all dry pencils such as oil color pencils, charcoal pencils, drawing pencils and other dry pencils.
Cons
  • So far so good
