It's not always about big names: feeling good, looking good (beginner boxer)

I'll start off by saying that I've just started boxing. No cardio boxing classes at spas. I mean the real deal with a professional boxer as a trainer. I mentioned this because I walked away from reviewing some other commercial gloves and ended up buying what looked like toy gear (I won't name names but you might think the Bronx brand is synonymous with boxing, you'd tire of that ) . to call something so cheap, flimsy and poorly designed by its name). The reviewer used his gloves for the crunch lesson; I should have known better. Occasionally they just fell off because the straps sucked, I couldn't make a fist because the shape was weird, and my thumb kept sticking up instead of staying where it should. out my ass and invest in something more permanent. As a 5'8" 160 lb female beginner I was looking for something I could use for training but nothing too heavy. I've just moved on to sparring). I've seen the 16 ounce gloves have good reviews so I tried the 12oz gloves and I'm glad I did.Firstly, this is a great price for leather gloves.more expensive than synthetic or "cardio" gloves but I encourage you beginners like me to take the quality of your gloves seriously this really affects your performance and reduces the risk of injury will last a lot longer than the toy i bought last time the hand straps are a plus for me - they are very long and wrap well so they give my wrists a little more support Glove shape I feel a lot more natural with my fist and I have no problem pulling my thumbs back (again this toy really hurt me) Also off Aesthetically, gloves are attractive. If I had to fault anything, I would say that the gloves (with wraps) are a bit tighter than I expected. That's the price you pay when you buy online - you don't get a chance to try them on. I don't mind because it's not much cozier. However, I think guys should consider this when buying. When I put these gloves on I will be checking out the 14 ounce version. It's a lesson learned: sometimes brand names are just advertising. I am very happy with these gloves. I'll see if they hold up to heavy use with an update in a few months.
