Review on 🏍️ Garmin zūmo XT Motorcycle GPS Navigation Device, 5.5-inch Ultrabright Display, All-Terrain and Rain-Resistant by Brent Shaeffer

Objective: Follow GPS directions on a specific route to a specific destination. Over the last 15 years I have owned several Garmin GPS units and used them hundreds of thousands of times. Miles. I am impressed and satisfied with the kilometers and years so far. . . My new Zumo XT proved to be an unacceptable test. All of my previous Garmin GPS devices had a wired audio connection. The Zumo XT only uses Bluetooth and it took me several weeks to communicate with Garmin support before I was able to hear navigation directions and music with my custom Challenger earbuds. Here is my experience from last weekend in April 2021: 1) I planned a route with Basecamp. I transferred the route to my Zumo XT. We followed the route for an hour and a half until we were about 30 miles from our destination. Zumo then changed the route to a series of small winding back roads instead of the route I had planned. We arrived at our destination and I wondered what the heck? I looked up the route on Zumo and clicked on map. It showed my original route with no mention of a detour. 2) Two days later I went home. I wanted to drive home on roads other than the Autobahn. I pressed home and was directed onto the main freeway. I tried directing it to a city where I wasn't allowed to use the freeways. I did this before using some old Zumo gear. But in this case, I needed a mailing address to get directions into town. 3) Unfortunately I returned home with street signs and memories instead of my new Zumo XT which will soon be thrown into a landfill. Edit on 05/21. added – Upgraded from one to three stars. I've found workarounds for every problem except why it didn't follow the route for the rest of the trip. I still have a route and will follow it again to see what happens.
