Terrible Handheld GPS Guide

This is a good device with a lot of great features. The screen is excellent. The biggest problem for me at the moment is the lead. It contains only the most basic information, e.g. B. How to turn it on. You have to do most of the functions yourself. Despite the poor instructions, this seems like a really good device.

Poor quality power cord adapter - broke within 3 months

I don't usually write bad reviews. But Garmin really got it wrong with the power cord that comes with this unit. The Zumo XT is a very good custom built GPS. The cable connector that attaches to the unit's mounting base is of the worst quality and design I have ever seen. The pins fell out within 3 months so the device will not charge while on the mount. This is unforgivable and will leave someone stuck mid-trip (like me). Additionally, Garmin needs to be aware of the issue as replacement…

Too complex and unreliable

Objective: Follow GPS directions on a specific route to a specific destination. Over the last 15 years I have owned several Garmin GPS units and used them hundreds of thousands of times. Miles. I am impressed and satisfied with the kilometers and years so far. . . My new Zumo XT proved to be an unacceptable test. All of my previous Garmin GPS devices had a wired audio connection. The Zumo XT only uses Bluetooth and it took me several weeks to communicate with Garmin support before I was able to

Excellent motorcycle GPS

Finds satellites quickly. Map updates are relatively fast. The screen is bright and easy to read. Finding addresses or place names is easy. The on-screen keyboard is easy to type. It's not too bad to deduct a star, but I have to point out that the power cable could be better designed. It has a proprietary connector on one end for connecting to a device and voltage regulator box a few feet away from the permanently attached one. The clearance between the plug and the box is about an inch less…

Love GPS, hate keyboard

Device works well. I have ridden it on several trips and had no problems with it. I even downloaded Basecamp for the long and difficult distance we had to cover in the race I sponsored. I loaded my route onto a map, sent the file to the GPS and it worked fine, although it took me a google search to find the route. It's apps, then trip manager, then downloading saved itineraries. I save myself Google Fu. It pairs perfectly with my phone so I can easily send directions from my Android using…

Familiar Garmin interface with improvements for motorcycle racing

When I bought a 2021 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited travel trike last July, I wanted GPS to navigate my route. . I've had maybe six Garmin devices and love the interface, so I bought this Zumo XT when it went on sale over the holidays. I had to do some custom work to make the mount I liked, but it's finished now. See photos. My trike has a USB cable in the front so I used that instead of the power cable that came with it. I had no problem connecting my Galaxy S9 and Sena helmet headset to Garmin…

Best GPS I've ever used on a motorcycle

I'm not sure how many GPS's (almost all Garmin) I've had and used on the motorcycle. Somewhere around 10 I think. This is the first "motorcycle" GPS that I've tried because until recently, motorcycle GPSs were too small for me. At the time of writing this latest version of the review, I've had it for about a year. However, due to pandemic restrictions/considerations and lack of appeal to ride in our Florida heat and humidity, my actual usage was somewhat limited. A few notes: the screen is…
