Love the fact that this mug warmer actually seems to keep my drink hotter than other warmers I've used. I've had plenty of mug warmers that do just that: keep my coffee warm but not hot. I like the gravity aspect of this heater. There's no on/off switch so you don't have to worry about leaving your mug on the heating pad and coming back to find it burned on the bottom (like I've done in the past). However, it took a lot of fiddling to figure out WHERE exactly on the heating pad to place the cup for maximum effect. There is a circle on the heating pad. When I first placed my mug in the center of this circle, I found that this did NOT activate the gravity mechanism and returned to a cold cup of coffee. I've since found that if I place the mug off-center, closer to the light that comes on when the heating pad is turned on, the gravity mechanism activates more consistently when my mug is placed on it. As mentioned in many reviews, this cable is SHORT! It can also be difficult to place the heater. Luckily I have an extension cord on the back of my desk. Keep in mind that the cord is only 26 to 28 inches long, so you'll need a power source close to where you plan to place the heating pad. an ounce coffee mug that I enjoy using from time to time. This works even better if I fill my cup about 2/3 full. Now I'll say it's getting colder and it's getting cooler in the house, that's probably a factor. I've found that if I move the heating pad to the kitchen, that's a warmer space where I can also put the heating pad on the counter next to the spout, it works much better now that I know the optimal spot for the cup. .For the first few weeks I thought a lot about whether to just return this or not, but the fact that it keeps the drink hotter than many warmers and the gravity aspect of the warmer made me decide to just give it a try and with a different one to live.
