Edit 9/24/18: Have relied on this collar for years; but the shutter recently changed from hard plastic, and the second one just broke! I need to find another collar. Very disappointed. Our cat checked this twice when we first got him (we found him under a juniper tree with a Loc8tor on his collar). Since then he has been fine. The "clasp" is plastic and wears out over time - I've lost count of all the collars we've gone through, but keeping it on the tag is cheap insurance. We probably use it every 10-12 months because we put it on and take it off several times a day when going outside. Not very happy with the new clasp as the first one broke (and not that easy to close) but we have to trust the manufacturer to think it's more secure. Overall, it deserves a good rating.
