Much stronger and easier to use than I expected. I have severe arthritis in my hands and all the other drywall sanders had locking mechanisms which I couldn't use except this one! BENEFITS: Easy to block Ideal for arthritic hands and fingers Durable Inexpensive Holds ANY sandpaper Once blocked, the sandpaper doesn't move The only neutral element is that you either have to trim large sheets of sandpaper to fit, or trim the drywall sanding sheets slightly to match them. That didn't bother me, since I use different types of sandpaper depending on the project, the waste is minimal and takes half a second.
