there is no need to replace the entire handle
This really is a life saver. After years of wearing, the locking mechanism has worn out. But that was all that needed replacing. So I found this item (at a very reasonable price) and within minutes my door was working like new again. There is no need to replace the entire door handle when you may only need to replace the latch mechanism. Highly recommended.
