I have found nothing but success! It prevents the accumulation of surface oils from food and other proteins while reducing the flow rate for my betta! Now he is much happier. Finding a balance between the bottom and top entrance for optimal suction is a little tricky, but once you do, you're spot on. I would recommend attaching it directly to the rear intake manifold. It didn't go very well with my whisper filter until I discovered that you could just slip a flexible hose over the intake pipe and it worked great!
