You don't buy MikroTik hardware, you buy their software. Level 4 license with this router. RouterOS is a commercial software solution. I configured my router as a wifi station on 5ghz and disabled 2.4ghz with static ips for 4 computers on an ethernet network and a wifi router with 2 phones. That was definitely an improvement - the download speed tripled. MikroTik is not for those who never want to learn about iptables and NAT. Or those who don't use the command line every day. If you want to learn, Quickset can set up a number of simple configurations to get you started. However, there are no fuses, you can easily screw it up. If you screw up, do a hard reset and start over. For those who live on the command line, I recommend Microtik and RouterOS. The rest of you, RTFM.
