I bought this stand to store Goulet Pens ink sample bottles. Goulet Pens sells a similar rack to this one, but it only holds 40 vials, not the 50 bottles on this rack. mm). The outer diameter of Goulet Pens ink bottles is 15.5mm. My guess is that the vials are designed to fit the diameter of a 16mm tube, which seems to be one of the standard tube sizes. If we take into account the thickness of the label glued to the bottle, we get 16.2 mm. The diameter of the holes in this rack is 16.0mm. So it offers a good fit for a 16mm bubble level. Vials will also fit with paper labels, but they need to be perfectly aligned, and even then it can take a bit of pressure to get through. You couldn't just quickly ramp one up or down. Also, this rack arrived with the bottom of the plastic showing numerous minor scratches. In the end I settled on a different standpipe: a 15/18mm 50 hole standpipe from Carter Scientific. The hole diameter for this rack was 18.5mm, which was more suitable for my purpose.
