Review on 🚗 CURT 45791 Trailer Hitch Extension - 8-Inch Length, 2-Inch Receiver, 3,500 lbs Capacity by Adam Gardner

This is a high quality device. I'm surprised how hard it is. Insert side is solid steel, not hollow. Welds are clean and thick. I use this extension with a CURT 13432 Class 3 hitch (2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) so the holes line up perfectly. This works great for extending my hitch past the rear mounted spare tire. This is important as I mainly use a bike rack hitch and the bike rack won't reach my hitch without removing the spare tire. I also use an extension to mount my flat storage rack. The extension rattles a little in the tongue, which is normal, so I recommend using a tongue tightener such as Tulga Fifth Wheel Co 2 Packs Anti Rattle Hitch Tightener Stabilizer No Sway for 2" and 1.25" heavy duty steel without rust . I use a 5/8" locking pin to secure the extension to the drawbar. The pins in my picture are LIBERRWAY. I've actually towed everything with this hitch but it certainly seems to hold a lot of weight. The worst thing I can say about this extender is that the powder coated paint chipped off a bit when I put it on the hitch.
