Review on Oxford Terra Ground Anchor OF442 by Jason King

After losing a scooter, this anchor saved my new one!

I bought a scooter last November. Earlier this summer I moved to a new place with nowhere to lock my scooter. I parked my scooter in front of my house knowing that there were other scooters and motorcycles all over my new area and hoping my disc lock and heavy duty chain lock on the wheels would suffice. Less than two weeks after the move, the scooter "disappeared” with all its locks overnight. I reported the theft to the police but I doubt I'll ever see my first scooter again. Before I replaced the scooter I ordered this Oxford anchor. An anchor arrived and I dug holes along the curb in front of my house. I dug deep enough to hammer some rebar under the curb and other corners, threw in some gravel for drainage, set an anchor, and poured concrete. Although I used quick setting concrete, I waited about a week to make sure the concrete had set firmly before taking my second roller. I had the anchor and my new scooter for about a month and a half. now half. At first I was nervous about having a new scooter moored to this anchor overnight thinking the same thieves would strike again. So far my second scooter is still safe even after leaving it for over a week while out of town for family reasons. The anchor is very strong and very efficient. The loop is big enough for me to easily thread my heavy Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit 1415 chain lock through (more weight = more containment). I originally planned to put in about 180 pounds, but it ended up being a lot less due to the nearby underground utilities. Even with less weight than planned, this anchor is very reliable. I only wish I had bought one sooner!
