The performance and functionality of this device is as good as a complete home lighting control system. This unit looks exactly like the one I received with the complete system. However, this single optional remote did not come with clear instructions to make it work with the full control system I previously purchased. In order for it to work as a third remote control for the system, I had to open up (disassemble) the device and figure out how the device was constructed. By studying the PCB layout and considering how I would design it, I was able to find a method to reprogram the device to work with the complete system I had previously purchased.
