This is awesome. I have years of experience with metal and have never tried them, assuming they are just a gimmick. NOT CORRECT. I had about 30 feet of really crappy, rusty, cement spattered schedule 40 steel pipe that needed stripping. I was afraid of it. The thing was also covered in that sticky black paint, so the rust plus the durable paint/tarmac sheet is junk. It is more difficult to remove than mill scale. I've done a lot of this type of metal cleaning, flap discs stick together way too quickly and wire wheels do, but they're slow (and painful). These things cut through everything in one go. They leave a nice, paint-ready surface, and do not warp or cut into the workpiece. There seemed to be less clutter and dust than I expected. I was shocked. They wear out pretty quickly, but I'd say not too much. I used 8 to make 30 feet of some really bad rusty 4 inch pipe. 4 spoked wheels would probably be required. HUGE labor savings. To me, time is money, and what I expected to spend days on, it took 2 hours. A few tips on using them: They drop chunks. Wear gloves and goggles. I also like to wear a respirator so most of my face is covered. They don't poke into you like a spoked wheel, but they poke! Flower disc, ie with a sloping outer edge. They will wear out much, much faster and shed a lot more parts. Use them more like a wire cup and hold them flat against the metal. You're pretty much done when there's about 1/4 inch of abrasive in it and you start to see the glue holding it together. They cut better initially but gradually become less effective, albeit not by much but they still work great. I cannot recommend them enough. I love her so much I wrote this and made a video!
