The product is excellent. I bought a QNAP NAS with 10Gb Ethernet support and a switch that does the same. I wanted the fastest networking device I could buy for my computer. I bought an internal card with my new computer but was sad to find that it only supports a PCIe x1 card when I bought a PCIe x8 card. Looking around, I couldn't find any PCIe x1 cards that support faster speeds than 1GB Ethernet. boo I found this card that connects via USB and promises 5GB connectivity. So I bought. Here are some great features of this card: 1. It doesn't require any external power.2. It supports 5Gb Ethernet with CAT 5e cable for short distances (I use CAT 6 cable for my setup).3. It has a driver ON THE DEVICE - you plug in the device and a virtual CD drive appears with the driver attached. Excellent.4. The driver is kept up-to-date via optional Windows Update updates. Check for updates, check for optional updates, and look for a driver update for the card. The device gets warm, but dissipates the heat well. Does not heat up.6. It's bigger and heavier than any other USB networking device I've used, but it doesn't bother me. Easily portable.7. To connect to a computer, it supports either a USBC connector or a standard USB-A connector. It comes with both cables.8. It connects at full speed 5GB. I tested transferring files to NAS over 1GB and 5GB. My transfer rates are closer to a 2GB ethernet adapter, but they're definitely higher than 1GB. If you're looking for faster transmission, there are likely many variables at play. Remote storage speed, switch and network speed, USB speed and local storage speed. I tested on 2 different computers, 2 different NAS devices and got similar results, the transfer speed is around 2GB. Actually, I have no idea what the "purity" rating means. does he shine Maybe. But how does the product become cheaper? No idea. Good product. Feel good about it.
