I did not buy this to cut plumbing grade pipes. I just needed thinner pipe cut to make closet clothing rods. This device cut through the closet rod pipes like butter. It was a nice clean cut but still needed the burr tool to get rid of sharp spots. Simple and easy to use. It does NOT feel so cheap that I was afraid it would break in my hands. Has a nice solid weight to it. Materials and durability are ok for 21st century tools that are cheaper than those made in the past. All in all not a bad tool.
