Okay but probably not for PVC.

First impressions out of the box, I was surprised how hefty this cutter was. Quite robust. Also, pretty well made, don't really see many flaws. So far so good. While this says it can cut 2", that is true, but you are not going to be able to cut 2" schedule 40 PVC because that measures 2-3/8", won't fit in this cutter. So I tried a piece of 1-1/2" PVC I had and it did cut it, but there was a slight problem. During the process of cutting, this tool leave a ridge on the ends of the PVC. So after…

Pros
  • Great Product.
Cons
  • Requires regular maintenance to keep it in good condition

Nice, well made tool and priced right. Just be aware of size.

I'm impressed by the quality of this tube cutter. It is rugged and smooth operating and I expect it will be durable. The rollers are impressively wide and the cutting wheel itself is quite large. My only issue is it is larger than I expected both in width and overall length which may be a problem in confined spaces. Recommended.

Pros
  • Light weight. Easy to use. Great buy!
Cons
  • These are great cutters but they leave a bevel on the pip that makes fittings hard to get on

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Hard to use. Came with no instructions.

I bought this because I had a 1-1/2" brass tube pipe I wanted to cut down for a project. I was excited to use this when it came but was disappointed that there were no instructions included. I didn't know how much pressure to apply to the turn and ended up denting in my brass tube. Also, the cutting disk kept popping out of the score line I tried to make. If I didn't apply enough turning pressure on the knob then the disk pops out of the score line. If I apply too much pressure then I ended up…

Pros
  • This is exactly what I needed. Cuts through tough metal easy and the deburr tool works great.
Cons
  • Requires a certain level of skill and precision to make accurate cuts

Very well built tool

I’ve only used it to cut 1” aluminum tubing for a boat bimini top but for that use, it worked great! Cuts like a hot knife though butter, very smooth (the rollers worked extremely well with little resistance turning), very clean cut (it will cut fast, however I increased the cut less than a quarter turn each revolution and it left the tubing very clean, no deburring needed). It is a large, nice looking/feeling, heavy duty tool so working in a tight space may be challenging (such as copper water

Pros
  • Works perfectly
Cons
  • This cutter is extremely large, hard to fit anywhere and very cheaply made

Flawed cutting design

Though it is well designed when cutting copper pipe there is a significant ridge left on the pipe which requires a lot of effort to remove so the pipe can fit the fitting. This is why the reamer included is for the outer pipe as well as the inner pipe. Reaming the outer pipe to fit the fittings adds at least 3 minutes to each connection, which for one or two connections is not a big deal, but when working on large projects this adds up. My old Ridgid pipe cutter never gave me this problem. I…

Pros
  • Easy to use, cut great, and a fair price
Cons
  • Takes up a lot of storage space due to its size

I did not buy this to cut plumbing grade pipes. I just needed thinner pipe cut to make closet clothing rods. This device cut through the closet rod pipes like butter. It was a nice clean cut but still needed the burr tool to get rid of sharp spots. Simple and easy to use. It does NOT feel so cheap that I was afraid it would break in my hands. Has a nice solid weight to it. Materials and durability are ok for 21st century tools that are cheaper than those made in the past. All in all not a bad…

Pros
  • Better than expected. Very sturdy and I love the end reamer.
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting non-metal materials

NOT FOR ACRYLIC TUBe

Says it cuts everything. However it didn’t cut acrylic at all. I tried many times using different techniques and it’s impossible to cut acrylic tube with this. So therefore it gets a 2 stars for wasting my time n money. I’m sure other materials it works better with but I only needed for acrylic.

Pros
  • a++++ all the way thank you
Cons
  • Not designed for heavy-duty industrial use

Right tool for the job

I saw another reviewer used this cutter to cut down their bike handlebars which is what I was wanting to do. Perfect tool for that job. Quick and easy, nice clean cuts on aluminum handlebars and the reamer worked well to finish the edges. I thought I was going to have to do this job with a hacksaw and I knew that wouldn't go well. Glad to have run across this handy cutter.

Pros
  • Good quality, very sturdy, it’s very easy to use.
Cons
  • Not versatile enough for cutting odd-shaped pipes

It does an outstanding cutting job.

It is an exceptional cutting tool. My wife wanted to cut a curtain rod for a better fit on the wall. Put this cutter on the aluminum tube and 4 turns later the discarded piece of the tubing was on the floor. Reamed out the part I wanted with the provided tool and everything was good to go. I was very impressed.

Pros
  • Cut easily through a chrome tub drain.
Cons
  • Limited portability due to its heavy-duty build

great tool for cutting copper pipe

I have a load of 1.5" copper tubing I needed to cut, this tool does a great job - super easy to use and cut the pipe easily. Also used it to cut some 1/2" pipe - did a great job on this too.

Pros
  • Honestly better quality then I expected. Good sturdy tool.
Cons
  • Can leave jagged edges if not used carefully

WAY nicer than I expected!

This sucker is BEEFY, and larger than I expected. Made short work of some drum stands I needed to shorten. Those are DOM steel, and this cutter did the trick with ease and precision.

Pros
  • Doesn’t walk while you’re cutting. Heavy but easy to use. Works well, I would buy this again
Cons
  • Can be expensive compared to other copper pipe cutters on the market

Very nice. best in my review

I bought this unit for a specific purpose. I needed to cut down 24 legs on my pier. I wanted them to be specific in height and a clean cut, so hacksaw use was not an option. I am impressed with how easy this tool did the job, cut 2” diameter pipe without any issue. It gets a place in the top of my tool box now.

Pros
  • Great tool!! Helped with our project
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cutting pipes in tight spaces

Revainrating 1 out of 5

doesn't turn well on my review.

There seems to be a flat spot on the blade, which makes it very difficult to make a smooth rotation around the pipe. The flat spot is not readily visible.

Pros
  • It's pretty damn sturdy however it won't cut 2" copper like they say.
Cons
  • The blade has trouble cutting PVC pipe. Not sharp enough to do the job.

Best product best in my review

I buy this due to the previous review. Really easy to use and I cut/trim 12 golf shafts. A bit problem with graphite shafts, just need to be careful and slow. I have to use scissors to cut and clean the last inner layer.

Pros
  • all good
Cons
  • Replacement blades and parts can be hard to find

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Thought it was great till the knob fell off.

The screw that holds the knob on fell out right in my tool bag. It seems to be just out of warranty and I can't find the info to get a replacement screw. Right now it's just dead weight in my tool bag.

Pros
  • Best tubing cutter I’ve ever owned. Adjuster works smoothly and cuts precise.
Cons
  • Can be dangerous if not handled properly or with caution

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You have something to use in case of emergencies.

It came early and looks nice and durable, but I never use yet. I’m just worried regarding the round blade if this will going to last but anyway it’s made in China so what you gonna expect. So maybe this will use for small job only.

Pros
  • I really like the ease of use and sturdiness of this tool
Cons
  • May not be suitable for beginners or those with little plumbing experience

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well built, works very well.

Used this for 13mm nickel plated copper tubing. Deburring and reaming functions can be time-consuming! Just need to be careful, if you over tighten, it can bend your pipe.

Pros
  • Super easy to use. Maybe 5 turns and it sliced 1.5 inch pvs like butter.
Cons
  • Deburring and reaming functions can be time-consuming

Failed in less than a year after very light use

I have used this pipe cutter a hand full of times since I purchased it and the middle bearing exploded on my today. VERY Disappionted. Can't get ahold of any one for a warranty claim either. Will not be purchasing their tools in the future

Pros
  • Works very well, made over 100 cuts on 3/8 aluminum and still cuts like new
Cons
  • The deburring and reaming functions may be confusing for some users
