Review on πŸ”Œ Powerful and Portable: VIAIR 87P Black Compressor Kit - Compact and Efficient by Adam Walsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for emergencies and everyday use

Built-in pressure gauge is a suggestion rather than a measurement. I see no reason to have a pressure gauge that reads much more than 100psi when it is very doubtful the compressor will run that high. Most car/truck/bike tires are in the 30-40 psi range. This is where it matters. I'm not a fan of hose connections. A fast connection would be better, but it works. A few other reviewers complained about the length of the hose/cable. Making it compact is a compromise. I also have a 400P kit for my SUV and it's about 4 times the size with a larger coiled hose and longer/heavier cable. In a mid-size car or small truck, you shouldn't have any trouble accessing the rear axle from the battery. You may need to be a little careful when choosing your route. This is my "just in case" inflator, to keep in the truck in case of a "low" but not flat tire, or to help someone who is in trouble (including me). . It's more expensive than roadside assistance but doesn't ruin the tire or make a mess like these products.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Almost never
