I used a small amount of Dawn dish soap to clean the roof and let it dry. The roof wasn't bad as the camper is brand new but the dealer had a year. This is a big 42 foot Jayco toy tractor and I used a full gallon of this treatment. I applied two coats and let them dry in between. If it's cooler outside it will probably be easier to apply since you can see it better as it takes longer to dry. But not colder than 55 degrees. After drying, the roof will be a little smoother than before, so be careful.
