Loaded e-bikes and rode them on the Autobahn. The freeway was bumpy and I looked in my rearview mirror to see the bike disappear. I pulled over and found that my cable lock had caught the bike, preventing it from going onto the freeway. I re-tightened and re-secured the rack mounts, but this time I tightened the cable. Five miles later, the bike shook again. The retaining latches are made of plastic and slide even when locked when force is applied. After that I used a ratchet strap to hold the bikes in place along with the locking clips. This kept the power off the mounting brackets and worked well. Do not use without the ratchet strap tight.
