I bought this to bring home 12ft lumber and 12ft drywall for my basement renovation. Let's see how it goes. Just a word of caution, this creates a lot of mechanical advantages for your receiver hitch. Too much weight can damage your vehicle. Load wisely and be sure to use something stiff under flexible materials. I turned a couple of 2x4s into an "I-beam" and attached them to a hitch post running the length of the bed. I then put a 1/2 inch layer on top and loaded the wood on top to make sure most of the weight was on the bed but I had support at the end of the wood if needed. It worked great! Super easy to assemble and install, very easy to set up and reconfigure for different vehicles.
