I installed a set of 8 ACCEL coils on my 2005 Ford F-150 with a 5.4 liter V-8 engine and 72,000 miles. I did the coils at the same time I changed the spark plugs, mostly for the labor savings. ACCEL coils fit just as well as OEM. With new spark plugs and coils, the engine idles smoother and feels more responsive under acceleration. ACCEL uses high-quality materials, which according to the specifications should last longer, and has experience in the development of high-performance products. More importantly, ACCEL has quality control facilities in place to ensure electrical performance requirements are met accurately and consistently, which is key to a good coil. Since every increase in horsepower also means an increase in kilometers, it makes sense to invest in this small upgrade even if the fuel price is high. It's also nice to see those yellow coil packs on the motor.
