I have used this to replace the starter motor on my 992cc engine 15kw Generac LP replacement alternator (model 04390-3). . It was a much cheaper option than the OEM starter. I hope it will be reliable. Interestingly, I installed this generator about 15 years ago. A few months later the Bendix starter failed and was replaced under warranty. All these years it ran without problems until Bendix dropped out again last week. This starter fully corresponds to the original. Replacing the starter motor is a very big job when you take apart the case which I started with and gave up very quickly - this is serious business! I decided to cut the access hole (8"x8") with a grinder (30 minutes). The actual exchange went quickly after that. I replaced the piece I had cut out and attached with heavy duty tape for now. Hopefully this starter will last as long as the original. I will update if not.
