This is a good, reliable, quality product. I don't use it as a structural member, but in terms of the force required to bend it and the size of the links, it seems on par with what you'll find at a hardware store. Personally, this bothers me a lot, but I've noticed that the brass has a darker, almost aged tone. I agree, but if you're after something bright and shiny, a quick wash with soapy water will lighten it up considerably, while a quick scrub with Bartenders Friend takes it all away (see photo).
