About 20 years ago I built a bridge to an island in my pond. It was time to replace the floorboards and to do that I had to remove the PVC railing I had installed at the time. There are 20 posts with 8 stainless steel Robertson screws (square head) to hold the brackets that the railing attaches to. When attempting to remove the screws, the soft stainless steel screws began to peel, making them impossible to remove without actually grinding the heads to loosen the mounts. More than 25% of the screws are sheared off when trying to remove them. After searching the internet for the best screw extractor for the job, I came across rocket socket extractors. I received them today and what a difference! The nests covered the heads of the screws and fastened them as if nothing had happened. They did such a great job that I didn't even bother to use a square head screwdriver to remove the remaining undamaged screws. I used Rocketsocket for all the remaining screws and made labor hours less than an hour. I could not have done this job without this puller kit. They're a little more expensive and I wish they came in a little better packaging, but overall I'm very happy with them.
