I bought this protector specifically because it has a strap that goes between the horse's front legs to keep the protector from riding up onto the horse's chest and getting under the front of the rug. The strap was 6-8 inches longer. It hung so loose that I was afraid the horse would get caught on it. I tried wrapping it around the guard to take up the sagging and that caused the horrible sticking which I was trying to avoid from the start. When I got tired of putting a guard on a horse with a larger chest, it didn't fit a larger horse's shoulders or neck. As a result, he didn't use the security at all.
