Not at all. I'm not a music lover, I'm not a recording snob, in fact I haven't heard my records in over 20 years. I bought this and was so excited to receive it. My god, the speaker is so terrible! I hooked it up to my Bose speaker so it got a lot better, but hitchhiking is really weird. The player just stops when it reaches the end of the recording, so often the machine just stops before the end of the last song. This might not be good for my records. But the real reason for the return is the machine's overall sound and plastic quality. Yes, it's cute, tiny, and portable, but when your records sound like crap, why bother? I'm returning it today and buying myself a $99 Technics turntable that at least has a real stylus. Unless you're honestly looking for a "close and play" quality machine, I would skip this and probably all Crosely machines in general.
