So far I've stuffed these sealants on both wine and champagne bottles (the latter is a bit more difficult but still doable). It doesn't matter whether the bottle is lying sideways or upside down in the fridge (and I've tried both with different bottles), it is absolutely leakproof. It seals well as it promises and has aged very well so far. The material still stretches and seals tight and I foresee too many liquor bottles in my future well stored for another day of drinking.
