This is a good set of LEDs that are easy to cut and customize to suit your needs. They come in a waterproof case (can't confirm that claim though) which seems to be holding up pretty well and I may be using some of these for an outdoor project this summer. I built an Arduino flashlight for our workbench and had absolutely no problem soldering multiple pairs of LEDs in the right configuration, the pads are easy to solder. Using the Arduino Nano, I was able to easily control the finished product using a 5V 10Amp power supply (not included). Individually addressable lights are easy to control with the FastLED toolkit and there are some great examples online to help you if you want to go down that route. hope that helps
