This set got me out of my predicament. Luckily I had an extra foot of fiber to work with because the stripping tool didn't quite get the job done. I've tried short strips, long strips, and even strips with light pressure, but the tool never cut to the right depth and kept breaking the fiber. After about 50 tries I removed the fiber and used alcohol wipes to clean the fiber wrap. The cutting tool did a great job and in the end the timing helped me, so this is a tool for extreme situations, not production use.
