Unfortunately these did not work for me. They feel nice and squishy going in, but shortly thereafter as all your weight is on your heel when walking, it all flattens and becomes just your weight on top of a thick hard wad of gel substance with no more cushioning. There is relief for a fraction of a second as soon as your heel hits the ground, but after it all flattens from the weight and your entire weight is on 1 heel while you lift the other, the gel insert becomes the ground itself, with no lightness or air in the material to cushion the shock. This is why crocs shoes are so successful. They are one solid piece, but because they are so light and airy, your foot is always on something that is not hard solid material or dense squished gel to CONTINUE to absorb the shock from the ground. If you stand on 1 foot and only on your heel, look at what's there: all the air holes in all the little squares are now squished into one hard totally uneven blob of gel, it's not like walking on a cloud. is it better than barefoot? Of course, anything is. But it just felt squishier, it didn't stop pain, and that's the reason why people buy stuff like this, correct? Perhaps some people have a different type of heel pain, I don't know, and all they really need are gel inserts even of the thin kind that Dr. Scholl's sells. But for others, if you are in any kind of pain on weight bearing, there's no logical reason this or any other gel insert would work to the point of providing significant relief. This is probably why other people like myself are saying it didn't work at all, in that this only works for certain types of foot distress, more like a shoe shaped comfort mat that you stand on all day to relieve fatigue, but it can't even touch what crocs shoes can do for you like it does for me. The only thing between your foot and the ground with crocs is a light airy substance that does not dense up even with full weight on them making it impossible to even push your heel down on them to get the full pressure of your full weight. Back to the crocs 16/24. I'll keep these anyway and just put them in my walking sneakers for the occasions where I have to wear them because crocs aren't practical.
