I purchased this item to fit between an RS232 ham radio cable set and a USB port on my laptop. However, this device uses a PL2303 chip and I didn't realize I needed a device adapter with an FTDI chip. I might be a good adapter for the application it was made for but it doesn't work in my application as I either need a desktop over the air which I don't currently have with an RS232 port or an FTDI chip- to USB port adapter Take this information for what it is and if you could use that it will probably work just fine. Just trust your application.
