Which half of the switch is on and which is off, who knows?

so i bought this lamp to help with my terrarium and it works great but the reason it only got 3 stars is because i wired everything up have, with a thermometer and a light bulb at my fish tank. I still can't figure out if it's enabled or not. The lamp I use is a ceramic radiant heater and does not emit any light. So I didn't know it was working until it finally started heating, it took me 20-30 minutes to realize it was in the off position because it doesn't show where the switch is, what's on and what is over. , you just have to find out.
