Great fit! Let me preface this with my experience. Intermediate to woodworking in general, VERY new to stitching. My previous experience with joints has been simple butt joint and miter joint. Although it was difficult, I wanted to learn beautiful (and strong) joints. That's why I ordered this plugin. Even after watching the YouTube video before ordering, I was still intimidated by the thought. I bought 3 boards 6'-1x6 for practice and expected a steep learning curve. no B. Everything. First shot out of the gate, about 30 minutes set up time - KEY - I assembled a very passable dovetail can. Not perfect, but have you NEVER cut dovetails? .I am not ashamed! As I mentioned above, customization is KEY. Again - I thought it would be difficult, but if YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS - yes folks, you must read the instructions! - The installation is very easy to understand and perform. One thing I would like to point out is that there is a typo in the manual with instructions for through dovetails. The 42046 guide is required to cut the pins, however the supplied (and correct) guide is stamped 42047. Slight moment of panic, I missed the part but as I said the part 42047 worked correctly. This also indicates that bits for the mini hinges are not included, but they are. I assume that a generic "serial" guide for devices that don't include additional templates would pose a problem in the latter case. Not enough of a problem to deduct a star for any issue, but something for Porter Cable's technical writers to take note of to fix. I see it has many uses. Definitely a steal at $180. All in all it's a great setup and the only downside is that I've waited so long to get into the world of advanced joints.
