The dehydrator worked well. a little slow drying and uneven drying. I've used it for fruit, but mainly for ground beef. I've used it a total of 5 times. It took 11-12 hours to dry 5 pounds of ground beef. kinda slow. but it worked. until the last time I used it. I mixed up a 5lb batch of ground beef, loaded the trays with my jerky gun, turned them on, set the time and temperature and it worked as it should. I walked into the living room and after a few minutes noticed that I couldn't hear the fan. I went to check, the car was humming, the fan wasn't working and I could smell burning plastic. I parked the car immediately. So 5 pounds of meat was exposed to burning plastic and I could still smell it on the meat after 20 minutes. I had to throw away the meat. I didn't want to risk it. So I exclude the cost and time of cooking 5 pounds of meat and the cost of a dehydrator. 5 uses in 6 1/2 months and this thing will kick you out. I want my money back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.
