We have a year-old cocktail. We were very happy to receive this package for his new cage. We installed all the toys and our birdie had fun for about 3 weeks. It seemed strong enough and held out. Suddenly he waved his arms and I realized his head was somehow stuck in one of the bells on the chain. When attaching the inner part of the bell, the metal is not welded. It opened up and wrapped itself around the bottom of its beak, much like you attach a key to a keychain. Its head is deeply embedded in the bell, and the edges of the bell are sharp. After an hour of panicked attempts to turn off the bell. We ended up having to go to the vet and after $130 our bird is fine. He pierced his beak and cut off his tongue. We had to feed him softer food until his beak became a heel. However, if you have or are planning to purchase this product, please remove the bells before placing in your cage. Or, even better, make it yourself. We'll be there from now on, and where better to hide. Be safe everyone.
