Good for Genie model 2024 7' door
I have a genie model 2024 garage door opener. It's 11 years old. The drive belt stripped out at the head. Not unusual considering the age. Looking for a replacement belt I found that the drive belt is no longer available. After a little more research I found this extension kit for other models. The drive belt in this kit is identical to the one used in the 2024. You just need to trim it to length.I received the kit, trimmed it to length and had my door up and running within the hour. I threw the other parts that came with the kit away.Why is there no placement belt available on the market? I have to believe the model 2024 is pretty common.
- Worked just as it should and my husband and myself installed it.
- Belt may stretch over time, causing the door to operate less smoothly
