BurgerTime is another MyArcade microplayer that looks like real arcade machines from the 80's. These players have an arcade-style sidebar, marquee, directional pad, kickpad, and faceplate, as well as an NES version of the game. Some of the others are Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug. I would place BurgerTime at the bottom of the MyArcade row. The artwork is good, especially the marquee, bezel and kick panel - all relatively arcade accurate. The side panels are smaller, largely because the BurgerTime was a fairly unique arcade machine with custom cutouts. But overall it looks good. The game runs on 4 AA batteries or can be powered via a micro USB connection. This is where the first problems appear. The game works well on USB but is quite battery intensive. For example you have to use 1.5v batteries and the only brand I've found to work is Duracell (Energizer doesn't work and no rechargeable brands work). So this is a big blow for him. Not sure why BurgerTime is different, all other MyArcade games work fine on all batteries. The sound is good. The game is quite loud and there are volume buttons on the back. Now we've come to the game's biggest problem, which is why I'm only giving it two stars. The responsiveness of the controls is pretty bad. MyArcade uses a soft directional pad and you can screw a joystick onto it if you like. In any case, the responsiveness in the game leaves a lot to be desired. This is a big problem in a game like BurgerTime, which is fast-paced and requires precise movement. I die in almost every game because Peter Pepper doesn't do what I'm trying to do! This is doubly frustrating because BurgerTime is inherently a very difficult game. It all boils down to something not particularly fun to play. The MyArcade Micro Player lineup is pretty solid overall, and BurgerTime is a classic. However, I think this is probably one of the worst games in the entire series and only for finishers.
