My wife's 2008 Dodge Avenger had P2017 codes and failed emissions tests. It was either that control valve or an actual intake manifold. We took a chance and replaced this part before replacing the entire intake manifold. Easy to replace; You need to remove a hose and three screws to remove it. Luckily, after about 30 minutes of driving, the computer cleared the code itself and the check engine light went out. Worth the risk if your engine runs smoothly!
