Charming and more!

That's right, I have a refurbished '97 MacBook Pro. Probably bought here once. And I'm not a spring baby. Right now, to hear my laptop, I basically can't hear my computer unless there is an air conditioner or fan. This is a combination dish for bad results. And since I don't have any fancy gadgets to replace my old music system, I'm stuck doing silly things like chores with no sound rewards. Another thing associated with bad results! So I know there are better speakers out there. Hey, I had Bose for decades until they finally exploded, but I'm totally not in the high-end market on SSDI. I need functionality. I must repeat that I am old; old enough to remember the large room that held the first computer or two. And add: I'm Luddite. I was insanely pleased with these charming, yes, I said that (!) small speakers. They're tough as I move them at least once a day with a lot less care than I originally did, but I'm so stupid. The sound is good enough that I can listen to music on my laptop in one room and listen to it on another floor. And since I live in the city, the fact that they're not very noisy is probably why my neighbors still call me out. I highly recommend these little speakers. Oh, one more thing. I kind of messed up the audio by erasing them once too quickly. I thought I killed the speakers but no. The sound icon was grayed out and not working. If this has happened to you, there are forums online where you can find out how to fix it. Yes, this Luddite found a guide on the web (obviously related to a Mac's headset jack), it was easy, quick, easy, and a FREE fix. And then my computer beeped again so I plugged these puppies in and they worked! But not as loud as before. Which brings me to this pseudo-pro tip: The cylinder that sits between the USB connector and the speaker also has a volume control. Which was probably in the instructions, but that's a bug I'm still working on: reading them!
