Review on 🐢 Enhanced Outward Hound PoochPouch & Puppak: Lightweight Dog Packs & Front Carriers by Brandon Bugg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Miniature Schnauzers weighing 12-13 pounds are poorly supported!

I really wanted this dog carrier to like it, but the ergonomics are very poor. The description says the medium can carry up to 20 pounds (my 10 year old Miniature Schnauzer weighs 13 pounds); The lack of support for a harness that doesn't hold gear snugly against your body will result in your dog's weight being off your chest as he slides to the front of the bag. Because the dog's entire body weight is on the front of the pouch, the hard bottom of the pouch slopes at an angle, causing the bottom strap to pull over the lower back. Even with the straps set for maximum strength, you still have to manually keep your buttocks upright like a tray to take the weight off your lower back. I'm 4ft 10" and luckily have a strong core, but that's still too big for a device that should be comfortable for both owner and pet. People with weak backs and dogs over 10 pounds stay away. You'll have better luck buying a regular Osprey backpack, which is designed to take 5 times the weight off your spine, and put your dog in it.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Crumpled
