it does provide the comfort from standing on just the floor
the cons: the darker color does show everything on them so they do need to be wiped down daily, they did slid on the floor for a few weeks when we first got them, the pros: they're thick enough that they are definitely comfortable, added decor to the kitchen, even my dog lays on them when i'm prepping for a meal rather than his bed
